A Day of Giving Back: Ramadhan Blessing

18 Aug 2014, by

Communications and Multimedia Consumer Forum of Malaysia (CFM), in collaboration with Emcees of Malaysia (EOM) organized an experiential day for 101 underprivileged children on 19 July 2014.

This event includes a learning visit to Sri Pentas, a shopping experience at AEON Bandar Utama, an hour workshop, ending with the breaking of fast with CFM Councilors and Members. All these are with the objective of giving the children a meaningful and memorable experience.

This is one of CFM’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives in reaching out to the less fortunate.

According to the Chairman of CFM, Dr. Elistina Abu Bakar  “Hosting 101 children in one event makes this occasion significant for us. This is not the typical occasion where we just find one home and treat them to buka puasa, but we were able to gather our members as well, for the orphanages to communicate their needs and requirements. I’m so happy to see our member En Ali Ibrahim from Persatuan Pemilik-Pemilik Telefon Bimbit Malaysia (PERBIT) handing over duit raya to the children. Furthermore, instead of reaching out to just one, we reached out to four orphanages. Our intention is for the children to have a memorable Raya this year, that is why the event is designed to include a visit to Sri Pentas and a shopping event.”

The four orphanages involved are Rumah Amal Nur Muhammad, Rumah Kebajikan Nurul Qana'ah, Rumah Kebajikan Siti Khadijah Anak-Anak Tahfiz Putera and Rumah Amal Suci Rohani.
